Simple Healthier Banana Cake

A delicious and healthier version of a banana bread to be enjoyed by the whole family. Less sugar and less dairy. The natural sweetness comes from the bananas as well as using our blend as a topper to get those extra fruits in :)


1 1/2 cups, mashed bananas (the more ripe the banana, the sweeter)
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoon brown sugar or coconut sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour (can use whole wheat)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted or coconut oil (for dairy free option)
Pinch of salt


  1. Preheat oven to 180C. Line a loaf or cake pan with parchment paper to make sure the banana bread doesn’t stick.
  2. Mash bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth. It’s ok if there are still some lumps. Add the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Mix until well combined. 
  3. Then stir in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, butter and salt into banana mixture. Stir to combine. 
  4. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until cake tester or toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean. 
  5. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring onto a cooling rack.
  6. Cut a slice and enjoy with our banana date kiwi blend as a topper!
